In that time, I have been fortunate to go from being a curious beginner to being tapped to solve many complex classes of problems and to help customers accomplish their goals all over the internet and across many industries.

Co-founder & Mentor Geeekify

  • I helped curious beginners go from no programming experience to landing their first jobs as Software Engineers through a free tutoring and mentorship program. My strategy was to set aside income from my employment to offer stipends to participants because I believed that when people have their basic needs met, they can focus on being creative and excel. Pairing that with project-based learning, I am proud of what the participants went on to achieve

Block

  • Reduced the cost of running an ETL by optimizing it and bringing its runtime down from >60 minutes to ~18 minutes

  • Helped increase the speed of tin matching for U.S. customers across Block(Square, Cash App, Afterpay, etc) by implementing a robust self-healing caching and batch processing mechanism. In addition to increasing matching/verification speeds, it decreased the company’s reliance on third-party vendors like TinCheck and has saved half a million(500k USD) each year

  • Reduced 1099 correction request time for customers by 99% and advocates by 80% by implementing a standardized, self-serve workflow, powering thousands of correction requests every month.

Telnyx

  • I helped reduce outages and service failures due to issues with insufficient balances and failed payment methods by designing and implementing a backup payment method feature to help customers like Cisco keep critical functionality up and running

Almanac

  • Implemented a collaborative, real-time commenting system within the document editor to facilitate discussions and feedback on content.

  • Created a content snippets feature allowing users to save and reuse frequently needed text, increasing efficiency and reducing errors from repetitive typing.

  • Enhanced the collaborative document editor by implementing custom elements (e.g., callouts) using the ProseMirror framework.

Silverfin

  • I helped customers across the UK save time with their obligations to HMRC by building a UK Corporate Tax Integration that allowed the submission of company accounts directly from the Silverfin platform

  • I helped 4 Junior Engineers understand basic programming concepts in-depth and build mental models around computing concepts while growing their understanding of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Turbo, and Stimulus. Growing the into Intermediate and Senior Level Engineers

  • I helped customers across multiple markets save time by building features such as IXBRL to PDF conversion, signing of documentation with Docusign, PKI Signing, etc, in a way that was composable to power many critical workflows for companies like PwC, Deloitte, and EY Global

Personal

  • I wrote a Ruby gem to solve interoperability problems between the IRMark calculation and interpretation between Ruby and Java services used at HRMC to verify the calculation
